A LEADING recruitment consultancy has seen revenues soar in 2008.
IntaPeople, based in Cardiff, says business has been buoyant, despite testing conditions in the UK recruitment industry.
Phil Handley, joint managing director, said: “This year has seen tremendous growth of IntaPeople’s specialist technical and engineering sectors.
“We’ve been fortunate enough to secure business worth in excess of £1.1m in the supply of highly skilled electrical engineers, design draughtsmen and stress engineers to one of the UK’s leading marine and naval support services.
“Together with our continued on-going core IT business, this will account for year-on-year growth of approximately 19% in 2008-09.”
IntaPeople employs 27 consultants at its Cardiff headquarters and plans to increase its staff to 40 consultants in the next two years as the company continues to increase its client base across the UK and Europe.
Mr Handley said: “To date we have been largely unaffected by the current economic climate.
“And as a niche supplier we have continued to prosper in recent months, and hope to continue providing our specialist recruitment service to businesses in need of key IT, technical, engineering or energy specialist personnel throughout the UK and Europe.
“We believe that many generalist recruitment companies may suffer badly within the forthcoming predicted recession. However, as a specialist niche supplier of high level key personnel, with business critical experience and skills, we expect to buck the trend and work through the economic downturn.
“Over the next 12 months we anticipate that the biggest growth will occur in the energy and environmental sector, with many companies looking at green issues and the implementation of latest IT systems in order to save energy and costs.
“Demand for key engineering workers has increased by 60 per cent in a year.”
