ICT Technical Consultant
South Wales
£18,000-30,000 (Depending on Experience) + Package
This role is to provide the following:
• Professional IT support
• Consultancy advice and guidance
• Internal IT support and development
There are 2 key elements to the role which are outlined below:
1. Technical ICT Consultancy
Providing clients with technical advice and guidance on wide range of ICT issues including:
• Identify areas where ICT can be used more effectively
• Development of requirements specifications for ICT solutions
• Preparing and maintaining project plans
• Implementation of ICT solutions including
Small Business Server, Domain Servers
Microsoft Exchange
Firewalls and ADSL connections
Networking Infrastructure (Switches etc)
2. Support Cover
Carry out regular daily, weekly and monthly activities to support and maintain the ICT infrastructure at strategic for our clients outsourcing clients when required. This includes:
• Support for all networks, servers and PC hardware and software including local and remote users
• Supporting Internet access, E-mail (Exchange), Web facilities and a wide range of specialised systems and software
• Answering helpdesk calls and enquiries professionally. Provide advice and guidance to users in response to such queries
• Communicate with and manage 3rd parties such as hardware and software vendors, to ensure all 3rd party systems are performing adequately
• Conduct ongoing risk assessments
• Collect information and conduct statistical analysis e.g. disk space usage
• Record day to day activities/incidents
Experience:
• At least 18 months experience of technical support including Microsoft operating systems
• At least 12 months experience of managing projects
• At least 18 months experience of being in a customer facing role
Essential:
• Ability to install and support Microsoft Server and PC operating systems
• Ability to install and support Microsoft Exchange
• Ability to support Category 5e networks and associated hardware
• Ability to install and support ADSL, Firewall and associated solutions
• Educated to degree level or equivalent
