Technical Author

£27,000 - £35,000 + excellent benefits package
IntaPeople have an urgent requirement for a Technical Author to join a well established company based in Nottingham
You will be responsible for compiling clear and concise customer facing documentation that describes the software products of the company, including system specification, release documentation, application notes and training manuals/user guides. You will also be called upon to assist in the testing of the documentation to ensure it fits with the product.
Duties:
Support software release documentation, ensuring this is clear, concise, comprehensive and accurate, ensuring that the content conforms to our corporate image and style. This could involve total document creation to straightforward editing
Review language and content used within products
Support software technical documentation, assisting the development of tutorials, software brochures and technical notes
Peer reviews other authors' documents, to provide editorial feedback.
Support Technical Communications group as required.
Help ensure the company documentation is a leader in its field by keeping abreast of industry and toolset developments
Monitor project development to ensure timely delivery of documentation
Work with the software development team and engineers to decide on essential information for customer documents
Support the product owner group in developments and sales literature
Experience:
Previous Commercial Experience
Degree (preferably in a technical area, such as engineering)
High level of written communication skills
Good analytical skills
Adobe In Design (or other DTP or graphic design packages)
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Project management skills
