Systems Engineer
Up to £33,000 (Depending on experience)

Duties:
• To act as in-house Product expert on selected Satellite Systems, communications technologies or applications.
• To support the company Account Managers in dealings with customers on engineering issues and conduct demonstrations in support of Sales.
• To be able to present and discuss satellite solutions to both technical and commercial customer representatives.
• To mobilise at short notice to survey, install or configure customer networks.
• To own, investigate and resolve escalated engineering service issues.
• To provide accurate and timely technical information or analyses on a variety of engineering investigations.
• To produce and maintain detailed technical documentation relating to products, services and customer networks.
• To direct company suppliers in achieving in-life Product or Service enhancements.
• To evaluate customer RFPs & requirements and produce high quality & compliant engineering responses including network designs and solutions.
• To keep abreast of new developments in the IT & communications industry which are applicable to the company markets.
• To evaluate new technologies or products, and propose their introduction to the company portfolio.
• In line with our New Product Introduction Procedure, to provide internal briefings and training to all affected departments.
• To participate in a DVB Support Engineer shift rota.
In addition the jobholder will be provided with any necessary PC, GSM, Blackberry and VPN keys, field tool kit etc. They will also be very familiar with data test sets, protocol analysers, RF spectrum analysers and other lab equipment such as oscilloscopes / multimeters etc.
Essential
• Degree (electronics) or HND/HNC
• CISCO (CCNA/CCNP) and Microsoft (MCSE)
• Security Cleared
• A professional and flexible approach is required.
• Commercially aware with good presentation skills
• Familiarity with modern digital satellite communications & IT systems.
