Design Engineer - IT Environment & Implementation Coordinator
6 Month Contract, Belgium, Up to €600 per day
My client, a leading ICT Consultancy, based in Belgium have requested that Intapeople Ltd utilise their extensive market knowledge of the European ICT Market to source an experienced freelance technical Design Engineer from a Telecoms background.
The project I am recruiting for requires an experienced technical design engineer with experience in the Telecommunications industry to evaluate the customer's technical requirements. The following detail will cover all expectations associated with the role:
- Ensure that hardware and software being deployed are identified, traced, tested, and properly rolled out.
- Communicate and manage expectations of Business Lines during the planning and rollout of new releases, including the liaison with Change and Release Management.
- Ensure that the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) is complete and accurate.
- Establish a concrete and realistic capacity plan identifying clearly deliverables and associated resources from the identified delivery teams.
- Actively contribute to the release management process required to make the Environment management successful.
Functional requirements:
- Assessing company project proposals in relation to technical abilities
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Telecommunications, or equivalent by experience.
- 3-5 years experience in one or several domains:
- Project implementation & release issues
- Large infrastructure base
- Knowledge and experience in project management and methodologies
- IT Software life cycle management
- General knowledge of financial topics, including cost structure, investments, operational costs.
- Ability and capability to work at a high level of abstraction while still interested in “hands-on” activities
5+ years experience required in:
- Database design and administration
- Middleware experience: messaging/application servers etc
- ERP: SAP
- Unix (Solaris), Clustering, Networks
- Knowledge and experience in Project Management and / or consulting
- French / Dutch and English required
