Senior Developer (PHP, MySQL/Sybase, SOAP, XML, HTTP, REST)

Intapeople have an urgent recruitment for a Senior Developer to join a forward thinking, dynamic company in Hertforshire.
The successful applicant will be involved with programming in a multi-tiered Linux environment encompassing PHP and MySQL/Sybase. The successful candidate will also benefit from training in the use of the latest IVR, text-to-speech and speech recognition technologies.
Many of the services the company provide require integration to 3rd party systems therefore experience of at least one of the following web technologies is required: SOAP, XML, HTTP, REST.
Candidate profile, experience and skill
Experience
• A Senior software developer with a minimum 5 years experience in a commercial environment
• Proven experience of development using web technologies
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Experience in providing documentation allowing others to provide support and maintenance
Technical skills
• Significant experience and thorough knowledge of working in a LAMP environment
• Excellent object oriented programming skills in PHP5
• Knowledge of the Zend Framework is preferable
• Excellent knowledge of databases and data modeling.
• Excellent technical report writing skills.
Qualification
• Degree in computer science (or related subject) desirable
Temperament/motivation
• Strong analytical skills
• A hands on, intensely proactive approach and thorough attention to detail
• Self motivated with strong personal organisational skills
• Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and work well under pressure
• Willing to take on a new intellectual challenge
We feel this role is commutable from Slough, St Albans, Milton Keynes, Aylesbury, Luton, Watford and Enfield.
